STL: Teen driver hurt in collision off Route B near west Hillsboro

JEFFERSON COUNTY, MO — A single-vehicle crash Monday morning off Route B near west Hillsboro sent a 19-year-old woman to the hospital, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The accident unfolded on the southbound lanes of the highway, north of Tinhouse Road, at about 7:20 a.m.

Preliminary details provided in the MSHP crash report indicate the young woman was operating a 2012 Chevrolet Cruze southbound when she failed to negotiate a curve. Shortly after, the Chevrolet left the right side of the roadway, where it slammed into a tree.

The female driver, who suffered minor injuries, was transported via private conveyance to St. Clare Hospital.

Tow crews had the extensively-damaged Chevrolet towed from the scene.
