STL: Woman sent to hospital after multi-vehicle crash on MO-370 in St. Charles

ST. CHARLES COUNTY, MO – A 71-year-old Ballwin woman was injured due to a three-vehicle crash  Tuesday evening on State Highway 370 in St. Charles, reports the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The collision was reported on the eastbound highway, west of State Highway 94, at about 6:00 p.m.

Officials say a unknown male driver was driving an SUV eastbound when they made an improper lane change into lane 1, causing the SUV to his a 2014 Volkswagen Passat. The impact caused the Passat to lose control, veer into lane 2, and then hit a 2017 Honda Accord. Moments later, the Volkswagen re-entered lanes 2 and 1 before running off the left side of the roadway and hitting the center median barrier. After being hit by the Volkswagen, the 2017 Honda Accord traveled off the right side of the roadway and collided with the guardrail.

Charles County Ambulance District crews transported the driver of the Honda to Mercy Hospital St. Louis for minor injuries.

No one else was reported hurt.

The MSHP crash report shows that both the Honda and the Volkswagen received moderate damage and had to be towed, but no information about the SUV was provided, indicating a hit-and-run.
