STL: Young woman sent to hospital after car hits two trees off MO-21 near De Soto

JEFFERSON COUNTY, MO – A 19-year-old woman was injured Sunday evening due to a single-vehicle collision off Highway 21 near southeast De Soto, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Officials said the wreck took place off the southbound lanes north of Perkins Road, or Vineland Road, at about 6:25 p.m.

A preliminary investigation found that the young woman was operating a 2008 Toyota Camry southbound when she lost control of the vehicle. Moments later, the car veered off the right side of the roadway and collided with two trees.

Valle Ambulance District crews had the female driver trans[orted to Mercy Hospital South for injuries described as “moderate.”

No other occupants or vehicles appear to have been involved, but the Toyota was totaled in the accident and had to be towed from the scene.
